Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
- Provide direct instruction in areas such as academic subjects, orientation and mobility, and use of adaptive tools and technology
- Assess students’ functional vision and learning needs, documenting progress and adjusting plans as necessary
- Work closely with educational teams to modify curriculum and create an inclusive classroom environment
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, supporting accessibility and classroom participation
- Educate staff and families on best practices and strategies for visual impairments in the school setting
