This position involves working as an itinerant teacher, servicing a districtwide caseload and collaborating with staff to provide individualized support to students across multiple campuses. The role is based onsite and runs through July 3, 2026, with a weekly schedule of 32.5 hours.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Valid educator license to teach students who are visually impaired (TVI certification required)
- Previous experience working as a Visually Impaired Teacher in a school setting, preferred
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, accommodations, and assistive technology for visually impaired learners
- Ability to manage and prioritize a districtwide, itinerant caseload across various school sites
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff
- Prepared to present proof of licensure, recent resume, bullet point presentation, completed supervisor reference, and GM worksheet upon request
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments based on individualized educational plans (IEPs)
- Travel between designated campuses within the district to provide direct and consultative services
- Assess student needs and develop customized instructional resources to promote independence and academic progress
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Implement and support the use of braille, low vision devices, orientation and mobility strategies, and accessible materials
