Qualifications and Experience:
- Active North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license and up-to-date certs required.
- Experience working as a Visually Impaired Teacher or in similar special education disciplines.
- Ability to adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet a broad spectrum of student needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with school teams, families, and ancillary specialists.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students with visual impairments.
- Assess and document students' progress, modifying teaching plans as necessary.
- Consult with classroom teachers and other staff to ensure accessibility in all school activities.
- Prepare and adapt learning materials and resources, including braille and tactile aids.
- Provide guidance and support to students, teachers, and families to foster an inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state requirements.
This opportunity is structured for 37.5 hours per week, exclusively onsite, providing you a consistent schedule and direct interaction with students.
