Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required
- State Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Experience working 1:1 with pediatric students preferred
- Strong understanding of current teaching strategies for learners with visual impairments
- Excellent communication, flexibility, and adaptability within a team environment
- Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborate with families
Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized instruction and adaptive materials to a visually impaired student
- Assess the student’s skills and progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise in visual impairment and accessibility
- Support the development of independence, mobility, and self-advocacy skills
