Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required
- Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Experience providing direct support to students with visual impairments, preferably in school settings
- Skilled in adapting instructional materials and methods to individual needs
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction as a 1:1 support for a visually impaired student, fostering academic and personal growth
- Develop and implement educational plans tailored to the student's unique abilities and goals
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, school staff, and families to ensure consistent and accessible learning experiences
- Modify curriculum and classroom materials for accessibility and engagement
- Maintain progress documentation and participate in ongoing evaluations and IEP meetings
