What Will Set You Apart:
- Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired required
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or higher from an accredited institution
- Experience working in a 1:1 pediatric or school-based environment strongly preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
- Enthusiasm for fostering independence and confidence in visually impaired youth
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver personalized, evidence-based instruction to a student with visual impairments, adapting lessons as needed
- Collaborate with educational teams to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Utilize specialized teaching techniques and assistive technologies
- Provide ongoing advocacy and support to ensure full participation in the school community
