Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid and current teaching credential/licensure for Teachers of the Visually Impaired
- Experience working with school-aged students who are blind or have low vision is highly valued
- Proficiency with braille instruction, assistive technology, and adaptive resources
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working collaboratively with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Willingness to work in a full-time, extended school year (FSY) contract setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments
- Assess student needs and tailor adaptations and instructional strategies accordingly
- Serve as a resource to school personnel and participate in multidisciplinary teams
- Develop and monitor progress toward specialized learning goals
- Support and train staff and families in the use of assistive technology and adapted materials
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines
