Key Qualifications:
- Current California TVI Educator Certification
- Experience or genuine interest in working with visually impaired students across kindergarten to 12th grade
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work closely with students, families, and other educational professionals
- Ability to adapt curriculum, create accessible learning materials, and advocate for students’ needs
- Organizational skills to manage caseload, documentation, and student progress effectively
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction based on students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Modify materials and use assistive technologies to foster student engagement and independence
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to develop accessible curriculum and classroom environments
- Offer ongoing support to students, families, and school staff to ensure academic growth and social-emotional development
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to student evaluations and IEP meetings
- Encourage self-advocacy and confidence within your student caseload spanning elementary, middle, and high school
