We are hiring an experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide vital instruction and advocacy for the upcoming school year near San Bernardino, CA. This is a full-time, onsite, contract position for the 2026/2027 academic year, working 37.5 hours each week. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and help create accessible, dynamic learning experiences for students across multiple grade levels.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid California TVI Educator Certification
- Prior experience working as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in school settings preferred
- Strong ability to assess and modify curriculum and environments to promote student success
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit
- Familiarity with assistive technology and Braille instruction is advantageous
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to visually impaired students in grades K-12
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt academic materials and incorporate assistive technology tailored to individual student needs
- Provide orientation and mobility skill support as appropriate
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress records in compliance with district and state regulations
