Qualifications & Experience:

• Certification and credentials required to serve as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
• Previous experience working with students who are visually impaired is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, adaptive technology, and Braille.
• Ability to assess student needs and develop appropriate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Effective communication skills to work with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Compassionate, patient, and driven to advocate for student needs.

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in individual and group settings.
• Adapt curriculum and materials to meet student needs using relevant assistive technology and tactile learning tools.
• Evaluate student progress and adjust instructional plans as needed, documenting outcomes and maintaining records.
• Provide consultation and training to general education teachers and staff on best practices for supporting students with visual impairments.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insightful recommendations to ensure student success.
