Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification with an endorsement or credential in Visual Impairment
• Experience working with students who are blind or have low vision, preferably in a school setting
• Familiarity with Braille instruction, assistive technology, and tactile learning strategies
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Commitment to individualized education and support for students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted instruction to students with visual impairments, both one-on-one and in group settings
• Assess student needs and help adapt curriculum or classroom materials for accessibility
• Consult with classroom teachers and staff to create an inclusive learning environment
• Help facilitate access to assistive technology and orientation and mobility training as needed
• Advocate for students' rights and work in partnership with families to support educational progress
• Maintain accurate records, contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, and provide detailed progress reports
