Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) – Onsite (Philadelphia, PA)

Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and qualified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support students in Philadelphia, PA. This is a fully onsite, itinerant role serving a small geographic cluster of schools, providing specialized services to blind and visually impaired students.
2026–2027 school year starts on August 17th. This contract position runs through June 2027, with potential for renewal for the 27'28 school year.
School Year:
- 32.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:15 PM)
Pay Range:
- $45.75 – $55.75 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students with visual impairments
- Adapt educational materials to meet students’ visual and learning needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
- Conduct assessments and contribute to IEP development and implementation
- Support students in developing compensatory skills, including braille (if applicable)
- Travel between assigned school sites within a small geographic area
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
Requirements:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- Orientation and Mobility (O&M) specialist certification preferred
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to manage an itinerant schedule
