- Proficiency developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong collaboration skills with educators, specialists, and families
- Flexible, creative, and dedicated to inclusive education principles
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects and compensatory skills such as braille, assistive technology, and orientation & mobility (with collaboration)
- Adapt classroom materials and assessments to ensure accessibility for visually impaired students
- Conduct assessments to determine students’ needs and monitor progress
- Offer consultation and training for school staff on best practices and accommodations for visually impaired learners
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to student planning and review
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and educational teams about student progress and support strategies
