Desired Qualifications:
- Active California Education Specialist Instruction Credential with Visual Impairments authorization
OR
California teaching credential with EL CLAD endorsement to teach visually handicapped students - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Prior experience working with students who are visually impaired is highly preferred
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired students
- Deliver direct instruction in core academic subjects, using adaptive materials and methods
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, aides, and related service providers to promote student inclusion
- Assess student progress regularly and modify instruction based on performance data
- Provide consultative support and training for staff and families regarding best practices for visual impairment
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with state and district requirements
This is an in-person, onsite position (not open to remote or hybrid arrangements) with a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours.
