Key Qualifications:
- Active Arizona Standard Secondary Teaching License
- Specialized certification or endorsement in Visually Impaired Special Education (K-12)
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Experience supporting a diverse caseload of visually impaired students
- Ability to travel to, and support, multiple high school sites
- Flexibility to provide in-person instruction with potential for virtual support
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instruction and support to students with a range of visual impairments
- Develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet each student’s needs
- Collaborate with general and special education staff, orientation and mobility specialists, and families
- Utilize assistive technology and accessible curriculum materials
- Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments as needed
- Advocate for students’ access to the curriculum and inclusive school experiences
- Maintain accurate progress records and comply with all reporting requirements
