Key Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certificate with an endorsement in Visual Impairment (TVI)
- Experience teaching students who are visually impaired in school settings
- Familiarity with braille instruction, assistive technology, and accessible materials
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to supporting students’ unique needs and abilities
What You'll Do:
- Design and deliver tailored instruction for students with visual impairments
- Adapt and create materials using braille and other accessible formats
- Assess students’ skills and make recommendations for classroom adaptations
- Consult with classroom teachers and staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications
- Work with families to provide guidance and foster advocacy for their children
- Monitor student progress and update IEP goals and documentation as needed
