Qualifications:
- Active North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license/certification required
- Previous experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of braille instruction, assistive technology, and adaptive strategies
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Effective at adapting instructional techniques to meet students' unique needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum materials as needed
- Assess student needs and progress, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Utilize assistive technology, braille resources, and other adaptive materials to foster student independence
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with families, teachers, and support staff
- Participate in professional development and contribute to building an inclusive, supportive educational environment
