Provide vision services to students in a supportive educational environment as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. What We're Looking For:
- Active North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) License/certification
- Experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments in a school setting
- Solid understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional strategies
- Ability to adapt lesson plans for varying grade levels and vision needs
- Strong communication skills, comfortable collaborating with families, teachers, and support personnel
- Positive, patient, and solution-focused approach
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to students who are visually impaired
- Adapt curriculum and instructional materials for accessibility
- Conduct assessments and contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Work closely with general educators, administrators, and itinerant staff to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented
- Introduce and support the use of assistive technologies
- Maintain accurate documentation of progress, interventions, and communications
