As a valued member of the educational team, you will collaborate with staff, families, and service providers to deliver comprehensive support tailored to each student’s unique needs. You’ll be a resource for accessible instructional strategies, and play a crucial part in drafting and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Qualifications:
- Active educator certification, valid in Arizona
- IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required at the time of application)
- Experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments in a school setting (preferred)
- Strong ability to modify instructional materials and utilize assistive technology
- Collaborative, adaptable, and committed to student-centered practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, individually or in small groups
- Evaluate and monitor student progress, documenting growth and adjusting teaching strategies as needed
- Support general education teachers with differentiation and accessibility measures
- Contribute to IEP meetings, assessments, and ongoing student planning
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary team members
- Flexibly adapt to changes in caseload or assignments as needed
