TVI - Westminster, MD
Make a meaningful impact educating students as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) with a leading school in the Westminster, MD area. This contract opportunity offers the chance to provide vital support and specialized instruction to students across Pre-K through 12th grade. You’ll be part of a dedicated educational team working closely with approximately 20-25 students, crafting individualized approaches to help each student succeed according to their unique educational needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Maryland teacher certification or license with a TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) endorsement required
- Experience teaching or providing services for students with visual impairments
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to design and implement instruction in accordance with IEPs
- Organizational skills and flexibility to travel between school sites as needed
Your Responsibilities:
- Delivering direct, specially designed instruction tailored to IEP requirements
- Conducting ongoing student assessments and collaborating on evaluation processes
- Partnering with classroom teachers, families, and related service providers to support student progress
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation for each student
- Serving a dynamic caseload in person, with school-specific assignments to be determined
- Adapting teaching materials and resources to meet the needs of students with vision challenges
- Participating in IEP meetings and other student planning sessions
This assignment runs from August 18, 2025, through June 30, 2026, with a schedule that aligns with the school’s day (options range between 7:30 am–4:00 pm) and offers 35–40 hours per week. A school-issued laptop will be provided for your use throughout the contract.
