Teacher of Visually Impaired in Windsor Mill, MD
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) at a dynamic educational environment serving Pre-K through 12th grade students. This assignment runs from August 18, 2025, through June 30, 2026, with one opening available. You'll have the chance to support and empower a caseload of approximately 20-25 students, providing specially designed instruction aligned with each student's IEP. Qualifications & Experience
- Current Maryland teacher certification or licensure with an endorsement as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience delivering specialized instruction to a visually impaired student population (Pre-K through 12 preferred)
- Proficiency in creating and implementing IEPs, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt lesson plans and materials for accessibility and accommodation
- Strong communication, organization, and advocacy skills
- Commitment to in-person instruction
Responsibilities
- Deliver evaluative and instructional services to students with visual impairments across various school sites (assignments to be determined)
- Develop and execute individualized and group lesson plans in accordance with IEP goals
- Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and participate in IEP meetings
- Coordinate with families, support staff, and related service providers to foster student success
- Utilize a district-provided laptop for lesson planning, student records, and communication
