Qualifications:
- Valid Maryland teacher certification or licensure with TVI endorsement, or eligibility and willingness to obtain (licensure assistance available)
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field preferred
- Experience or training in instructing visually impaired students
- Comfortable traveling between multiple school sites (laptop provided)
- Open to candidates from outside Maryland
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specially designed instruction aligned to IEP goals
- Provide direct services, assessments, and IEP development/implementation
- Consult and collaborate with TVIs, general and special education staff
- Support and guide Braille Transcribers
- Participate in school-based training and ongoing professional development
- Manage a caseload of 20-25 students from Pre-K through grade 12
