- Experience working with students (K-12) who are blind or visually impaired
- Proficiency with Braille instruction, assistive technology, and accessibility tools
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies for diverse learning needs
- Collaborative approach to working with educators, families, and related service providers
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Assess functional vision and learning environments to recommend appropriate modifications
- Teach Braille reading and writing, orientation and mobility, and use of assistive technology
- Consult with general education teachers and staff to ensure accommodations are in place
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and services provided
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
