As a valued educator, you’ll work on-site across a thoughtfully selected cluster of schools, serving a manageable, referred caseload of 12 students in grades K–8. Collaboration and student-centered teaching will be at the heart of your work as you partner with teams at both elementary and middle school levels, and occasionally support high school students in a dynamic, itinerant position.
Your expertise will ensure equal access to education for students with visual impairments, empowering them to thrive academically and socially. Begin the school year with an enthusiastic cohort this August, contributing meaningfully through late May. Key Qualifications:
- Valid Educator Certification with Vision endorsement
- Skills and experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- Proven ability to serve K–8 students; open to discussing optimal caseload match
- Ability to travel between schools within the cluster
- Must fulfill district credentialing (background check, fingerprinting, required forms)
In this role, you’ll:
- Create and deliver customized instruction for visually impaired students, ensuring accessibility
- Collaborate with school staff, related service providers, and family members
- Adapt general curriculum using assistive technology and resources
- Advocate for your students, fostering independence and confidence
- Maintain timely documentation and progress records
