Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Florida DOE Teacher for Visually Impaired (TVI) certification required
- Experience teaching Braille is essential
- Previous work in school settings strongly preferred
- Open to candidates with prior fingerprints from the AHCA Clearinghouse (district fingerprinting mandatory)
- Ability to travel to multiple schools within the district
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct instruction for up to 12 visually impaired students (690 service minutes/week)
- Consultative support for 2 additional students
- Develop and implement individualized educational strategies
- Travel between up to five school campuses as assigned
- Maintain detailed documentation and coordinate with school teams
- Adapt and adjust Braille resources to student needs
