Key Qualifications:
- Valid Florida Department of Education certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Proficient in teaching Braille
- Experience working with school-aged children
- Ability to manage a dynamic caseload involving both direct instruction and consultation
- Must complete district-specific fingerprinting (prior prints with AHCA Clearinghouse may expedite the process)
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering direct instruction and services to approximately 12 students, ensuring 690 service minutes weekly
- Serving as a consultant for two additional students as needed
- Creating and implementing individualized education plans tailored to the needs of each student
- Collaborating with general education teachers, specialists, and families across as many as five schools within the district
- Traveling between campuses to provide consistent, quality support to assigned students
- Supporting students in developing critical skills and independence
