Qualifications & Skills
- Current Florida DOE Teacher for the Visually Impaired certification
- Proficiency in teaching Braille
- Comfort working with K-12 students in a school environment
- Experience navigating multi-site assignments preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Successful completion of district fingerprinting requirements (candidates previously fingerprinted with AHCA Clearinghouse may have prints pulled)
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized instruction in Braille and other adaptive techniques for up to 12 direct students, totaling 690 service minutes per week
- Provide consultation and support for two additional students as needed
- Develop and implement tailored learning plans in collaboration with classroom teachers and support staff
- Travel between up to five district schools to meet service requirements
- Maintain accurate records and compliant documentation
- Serve as an advocate and resource for students and families, promoting independence and academic growth
