Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with Visually Impaired (TVI) endorsement
- Previous instructional experience with visually impaired students, preferably within the K-8 range
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt instruction and materials for students with diverse learning needs
- Organized and flexible, thriving in multiple school settings
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to elementary and middle school students on your caseload
- Assess students’ needs and develop individualized educational plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure successful inclusion and access
- Employ assistive technology and adaptive tools to support each student’s learning
- Maintain thorough records and communicate progress regularly to families and staff
