Key Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVI) endorsement
- Experience working with students who are visually impaired, especially within school settings

- Ability to travel between multiple schools as part of an itinerant service model
- Commitment to using accommodations, adaptive technology, and individualized teaching strategies
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum and learning environments to foster student success
- Assess student needs and document progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers to modify materials and instructional techniques
- Participate in IEP meetings, and contribute to the development of individualized education plans
- Serve as an expert resource for staff and families, promoting inclusion and access
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district and state policies
