Make an impact in the lives of students by supporting their educational journeys as a dedicated educator for visually impaired students. This rewarding, part-time contract position offers the chance to work onsite within an engaging school environment near Glendale Heights, IL. You’ll provide instructional support for an itinerant caseload of elementary and middle school students, collaborating with staff to deliver meaningful, individualized learning experiences.

Key Qualifications:

  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Teacher of Visually Impaired (TVI) endorsement (required)
  • Previous experience working with visually impaired students in school settings preferred
  • Strong knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive strategies for visually impaired learners
  • Skill in developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative instruction to students with visual impairments across elementary and middle school grades
  • Adapt and modify educational materials to meet individual student needs
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, including IEP team discussions
  • Serve as a resource for faculty and parents, providing insight on best practices and available resources
  • Travel between school sites as needed to support an itinerant caseload

You’ll be empowered to make genuine connections with students and staff, offering expertise and compassion while fostering an inclusive classroom environment. The contract runs from August 11, 2026, through May 24, 2027, with flexible part-time hours that allow for work-life balance.
