Key Qualifications:
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Teacher of Visually Impaired (TVI) endorsement (required)
- Previous experience working with visually impaired students in school settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive strategies for visually impaired learners
- Skill in developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative instruction to students with visual impairments across elementary and middle school grades
- Adapt and modify educational materials to meet individual student needs
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, including IEP team discussions
- Serve as a resource for faculty and parents, providing insight on best practices and available resources
- Travel between school sites as needed to support an itinerant caseload
