1:1 Pediatric Long-Term Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Boston, MA

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as an experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired. In this full-time, on-site position, you’ll provide dedicated, 1:1 specialized educational services to a pediatric learner. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required
- State Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Previous experience working with visually impaired school-aged children strongly preferred
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet individual student needs
- Strong collaborative skills and willingness to partner with classroom staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Openness to travel or relocate for the duration of this assignment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized instruction and support to a visually impaired student in an inclusive school environment
- Integrate specialized materials, technology, and tactile resources to optimize learning
- Regularly assess progress, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate updates with staff and parents
- Foster independence in daily living and mobility skills, supporting student participation in classroom and extracurricular activities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, participate in IEP meetings, and contribute to individualized educational planning
- Remain current with best practices and innovative assistive tools for visual impairment education
