Key Qualifications:

  • State Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is mandatory
  • Prior experience working 1:1 with pediatric students is highly desirable

  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with educators, families, and related service teams
  • Enthusiastic about travel assignments and adapting to new environments

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, individualized instruction to a student with visual impairments, following their IEP goals
  • Develop and adapt lesson plans and instructional materials using accessible formats and assistive technology
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and family members to ensure a cohesive educational experience
  • Maintain accurate progress reports and documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
  • Participate in IEP meetings, offering valuable input and strategies to support the student’s unique needs
  • Serve as a resource to school staff regarding best practices for accommodating and instructing visually impaired students
