Teacher of Visually Impaired in Cambridge, MA

Key Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Certification/License
- Experience with school-aged children (K-12), preferably in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of assistive technology, Braille, and specialized instructional strategies for visually impaired learners
- Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, service providers, families, and support staff
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Flexibility to adapt lesson plans and strategies to individual student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments, supporting their academic and functional independence
- Develop, implement, and adapt educational materials and resources tailored to student goals
- Consult and collaborate with educational teams to modify curricular content, environments, and assessment methods
- Provide training and support in the use of assistive technology and Braille literacy
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and contribute to evaluations, IEP meetings, and program planning
- Partner with families to encourage ongoing skills development beyond the classroom
