As a Teacher of the Visually Impaired, you’ll collaborate with two other experienced TVI professionals to make a significant educational impact at a single K–12 school site. This setting provides rich opportunities to develop your skills, learn from diverse workplace practices, and observe different leadership approaches—all while expanding your professional portfolio.
Qualifications:
- Current California TVI Certification required
- PPS (Pupil Personnel Services) Credential required
- Experience working with K–12 students preferred
- Strong collaborative and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instructional support to students with visual impairments in classroom settings
- Implement IEP goals, adapting to a range of student needs across grades K–12
- Work closely with a team of TVI teachers and general education staff
- Document student progress and participate in IEP meetings
- Promote access to curriculum and classroom materials
