Qualifications & Experience:
- Active California teaching license with the appropriate endorsement for Visual Impairment.
- Previous work with children or students who are blind or visually impaired, including the use of Braille, assistive technologies, and adaptive techniques preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to design, implement, and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and student advocacy.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instructional services to students with visual impairments both individually and in group settings.
- Develop and implement accessible curriculum modifications and accommodations.
- Consult with general education teachers and staff to create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment.
- Assess student needs and progress, maintaining accurate documentation and participating in IEP meetings.
- Instruct students and staff in the use of adaptive devices and assistive technologies.
