Make a difference supporting students as an experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired in a dynamic, full-time contract position. In this rewarding role, you’ll provide 1:1, long-term instruction and assistance to pediatric students, helping them succeed academically and develop essential life skills. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required
  • State-issued Teacher of the Visually Impaired Certification is mandatory
  • Experience working 1:1 with pediatric students strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and adaptive technology is a plus
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with staff and families
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a school environment

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to visually impaired students on an individual basis
  • Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as appropriate
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and administrators
  • Develop, implement, and update IEPs in partnership with the student’s educational team
  • Employ a variety of tools and techniques to support learning, independence, and engagement
  • Serve as a resource for staff, providing guidance on accessibility and learning strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
