Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) required
- Current state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Experience supporting students in K-12 settings preferred
- Skilled in delivering tailored instruction to meet unique learning needs
- Collaborative communication style with students, families, and school staff
- Adaptability and resourcefulness for evolving classroom demands
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to a pediatric student who is visually impaired in alignment with IEP goals
- Develop and modify lesson materials for accessibility and engagement
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports student independence and confidence
- Maintain accurate documentation to track student progress and educational outcomes
- Partner with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and classroom teachers, to ensure comprehensive support
- Participate in meetings with families and educational staff as needed
