Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required
- State-issued Teacher of the Visually Impaired Certification is mandatory
- Experience working 1:1 with pediatric students strongly preferred
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and adaptive technology is a plus
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with staff and families
- Flexibility and adaptability in a school environment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to visually impaired students on an individual basis
- Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as appropriate
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and administrators
- Develop, implement, and update IEPs in partnership with the student’s educational team
- Employ a variety of tools and techniques to support learning, independence, and engagement
- Serve as a resource for staff, providing guidance on accessibility and learning strategies
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
