Desired Experience & Qualifications: • Valid teaching certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) • Previous experience in K-12 educational settings preferred • Solid understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive equipment • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with students, families, and education teams • Commitment to creating inclusive, supportive learning environments • Ability to adapt curriculum and lessons to meet diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities: • Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments • Conduct assessments to determine students’ needs and appropriate modifications or accommodations • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) • Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service professionals, and families to ensure student success • Advocate for accessible instructional materials and classroom environments • Offer guidance and training to staff on best practices for supporting visually impaired learners
