This contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with school-age children, empowering them to reach their full potential in inclusive learning environments. You will play a pivotal role, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to tailor instruction and develop accessible resources that align with each student’s unique needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification or credential for teaching students with visual impairments
  • Prior experience working with visually impaired children in a school setting highly preferred
  • Expertise in creating and adapting curriculum and materials to support diverse learning styles
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and Braille instruction
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with families, teachers, and support staff
  • Ability to travel between multiple school sites if required by assignment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess students’ visual abilities and educational needs
  • Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Deliver direct instruction in academic subjects, orientation & mobility skills, and use of adaptive devices
  • Provide guidance to classroom teachers on accessible materials and instructional techniques
  • Monitor student progress and maintain up-to-date documentation
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and staff development

Compensation for this position ranges from $35.25 to $58.25. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
