Qualifications and Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required
- State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Previous experience working 1:1 with pediatric or school-aged students is highly desirable
- Ability to develop and implement individualized educational plans tailored to student needs
- Strong communication skills, collaborating effectively with families, colleagues, and support staff
- Adaptability and empathy to address a diverse range of student abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in a 1:1 setting
- Assess and document student progress using tailored educational strategies
- Collaborate with IEP teams, participate in meetings, and contribute to ongoing student evaluations
- Provide consultative support and resources to staff and families as needed
- Adapt classroom materials and learning tools to ensure accessibility and engagement
