This contract role offers the chance to collaborate onsite with multiple school districts, including Southern, South Eastern, and Dallastown, providing essential educational services for students who are blind or have low vision.
In this position, you’ll serve as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) from August 18, 2026, through June 1, 2027, working closely with district staff as an itinerant teacher. Your expertise will help empower students to access their education by adapting materials, providing consultation, and teaching critical skills throughout their school journeys.
Desired Qualifications:
- Fully licensed Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Pennsylvania
- Prior experience supporting students who are blind or visually impaired (K-12 preferred)
- Strong skills in collaboration and adaptability, as this is an itinerant role
- Comfortable working across multiple sites and school communities
- Committed to fostering educational independence and success for diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and itinerant support for K-12 students with visual impairments
- Collaborate with general education teachers and specialists to adapt curriculum materials
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for assigned students
- Provide consultative services and support to school personnel and families
- Track student progress and contribute documentation as required
