Key Qualifications:
- Valid KY Special Education License with Visual Impairment (VI) endorsement
- Experience teaching or providing services as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- Comfortable working across multiple school sites within the district
- Strong communication skills and collaborative approach
- Genuine commitment to the educational and social development of visually impaired students
- Ability to adapt lessons and materials to meet individual student needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support for students with visual impairments across the entire county
- Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure appropriate accommodations and individualized education plans (IEPs) are implemented
- Assess students’ needs, progress, and goals, documenting outcomes and growth
- Prepare and modify instructional materials in accessible formats
- Serve as an advocate and resource for school staff regarding accessibility and assistive technologies
- Participate in relevant meetings and professional learning as needed
