Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) is required.
- Current state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
- Experience delivering specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, ideally in a 1:1 or pediatric setting.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with educators, parents, and support teams.
- Positive, flexible attitude and strong organizational skills for managing individualized education plans.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, individualized instruction to a student with visual impairment, adapting curriculum materials and teaching strategies to meet unique needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Assist in the selection and use of assistive technology or classroom accommodations.
- Support the student’s social-emotional growth and independence.
- Maintain accurate records and participate in regular progress meetings.
