You will collaborate closely with school staff, students, and families to deliver high-quality, individualized education plans that empower students with visual impairments to thrive.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential authorizing Visual Impairments, or California teaching credential with authorization to teach students with visual handicaps (EL CLAD)
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Solid understanding of best practices in teaching students with visual impairments
- Collaborative spirit and excellent communication skills
- Experience developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Ability to adapt instructional techniques and materials to meet diverse student needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support services to students with visual impairments
- Develop and implement IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to facilitate inclusive learning environments
- Adapt curriculum materials and assessments for accessibility
- Offer training and guidance on assistive technology and resources
- Maintain accurate student records and progress documentation
- Attend meetings, trainings, and professional development as required
