Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington State Driver's License or demonstration of mobility
  • Successful WSP and FBI background clearance; sexual misconduct clearance required
  • Demonstrated competency with Unified English Braille code, verified by WSSB Braille Competency Test, NBPCB UEB exam, or a Library of Congress certificate in literary braille transcribing
  • Previous school-based experience highly preferred
  • Experience with elementary caseloads is a plus

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-person services to an elementary caseload throughout the 26/27 school year (up to 20 hours/week; schedule is flexible and will be determined)
  • Transcribe and produce braille and tactile materials for school-based use
  • Collaborate with educational staff to ensure accessible materials for visually impaired students
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable background and security clearances
