Desired Qualifications:

  • Passing scores on the ParaPro Test, or an associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Unified English Braille (UEB) within one year of hire, fulfilled by one of:
    • Washington State School for the Blind’s Braille competency test
    • National Certification in Unified English Braille exam (NBPCB)
    • Library of Congress Certificate in Literary Braille Transcribing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transcribe instructional materials into braille, tactile graphics, and accessible formats.
  • Collaborate with education teams to ensure equitable access to curriculum for visually impaired students.
  • Work onsite at one elementary school, Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours/week.
