Qualifications:
- Previous school-based experience highly preferred
- Demonstrated competency with Unified English Braille code (WSSB Braille Competency Test, NBPCB Unified English Braille exam, or Library of Congress certificate)
- Fingerprint clearance and successful WSP/FBI background check, including sexual misconduct clearance
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License or proof of reliable transportation
- Passion for supporting children with visual impairments
Responsibilities:
- Transcribe educational materials into braille, tactile graphics, and other accessible formats
- Ensure equitable access to general education curriculum for elementary students
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to address individual student needs
- Provide direct support during in-person student days (M-F, 8:30am-4:00pm, 37.5 hours per week)
