Key Qualifications:
- Proven ability to transcribe educational content into braille, tactile graphics, and other accessible formats
- Demonstrated proficiency in Unified English Braille code, evidenced by successful completion of the WSSB Braille Competency Test, NBPCB Unified English Braille Exam, or Library of Congress certification (WAC 181-82-130)
- Previous school-based experience preferred
- Valid Washington State Driver's License or proof of mobility
- Ability to clear WSP and FBI background checks, including sexual misconduct clearance and fingerprinting
Essential Responsibilities:
- Translate textbooks, worksheets, classroom materials, and assessments for students with visual impairments
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and TVIs to ensure timely delivery of accessible resources
- Produce tactile graphics and adapt visual learning materials
- Maintain accurate records of materials produced and distributed
- Adhere to district and state guidelines for accessibility and confidentiality
- Work scheduled student in-person days, Monday through Friday, from 8:30am to 4:00pm (37.5 hours per week)
