Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Arizona Secondary Teaching License
- K-12 Certificate or endorsement in Visual Impairment/Special Education
- Current IVP Fingerprint Card
- Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in K-12 settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable with both onsite and virtual teaching modalities
- Ability to effectively support and adapt instruction for diverse learners
Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction and consultative support to students with visual impairments across assigned school locations
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications
- Conduct functional vision assessments and contribute to eligibility and planning meetings
- Maintain thorough documentation for compliance and progress tracking
- Use specialized materials, technology, and adaptive devices to support access to curriculum
- Work a full-time schedule during the academic year (August through late May)
