Teacher of Visually Impaired - Mesa, AZ

Desired Qualifications:
- Current Arizona Standard Secondary Teaching License
- Completion of specialized training in Visually Impaired Special Education
- K-12 Certificate or Endorsement in Teaching Students with Visual Impairments
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Experience working with school-aged children who are visually impaired, preferably in a K-12 setting
- Strong collaboration skills to work alongside general education teachers and other support staff
- Flexibility to support multiple educational sites as needed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments, utilizing appropriate materials and technologies
- Adapt curriculum and modify classroom materials to meet students’ unique learning needs
- Conduct assessments to determine student abilities and progress, while developing individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide consultative guidance and resources to teachers and school staff to support full inclusion and accessibility
- Communicate effectively with families to foster student development and achievement
- Travel between assigned campus locations as required
