Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required
• Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) in the state
• Experience delivering individualized instruction to children with visual impairments, especially in pediatric settings
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
• Commitment to fostering growth, independence, and academic achievement for students with diverse needs

Responsibilities:

• Deliver 1:1 direct instruction, adapting and modifying curriculum to suit the needs of a visually impaired student
• Assess the student’s strengths and areas for growth to develop and implement an individualized education plan (IEP)
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure consistent care and learning strategies
• Provide ongoing resources and guidance to facilitate accessible learning, including instructional materials and assistive technology
• Monitor progress, document outcomes, and participate in IEP meetings and reviews
• Serve as an advocate for the student’s needs within the school environment
