Key Qualifications:
- Valid Oregon licensure or certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), required
- Experience working with students who are blind or low vision, preferably in K-12 educational settings
- Ability to design, implement, and adapt lesson plans to meet individualized education program (IEP) goals
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with staff, families, and related service providers
- Comfort with both face-to-face and remote instructional models
- Flexibility to serve multiple locations as needed throughout the assignment
Responsibilities:
- Support and deliver direct instruction to K-12 students with visual impairments, adjusting strategies to individual abilities
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, families, and educational teams to develop and monitor IEPs
- Conduct functional vision assessments and provide recommendations for adapted materials and technology
- Travel to assigned schools or provide high-quality virtual instruction per assignment
- Maintain required documentation and participate in meetings to support student goals
